Edvard Matas was a Kresimirian public speaker and politician who served as a Senator for District I (Sinj) from 1972 until 1982. A member of Blue Dawn, he succeeded the liberal stalwart Vladi Korunic in the 1972 election and served alongside Ante Brov.
He was known as a conservative Senator. He stepped down in 1982 after voicing his opposition to Ljubo Sanjakorin’s premiership, having voted for Nika Radman in the 1981 Blue Dawn leadership election.
His seat was lost in 1982 to Antonio Labas of the Civic Renewal Front.
