Kresimiria King Frederik V

King Frederik V

King Frederik V (born 1942) is the reigning Monarch of the Kingdom of Kruhlstutt, having ascended to the throne following the death of his father, King Johannes III, in 1988.

Unlike his predecessors, who frequently clashed with parliament and wielded immense personal executive power, Frederik V is historically notable for being the first Kruhlstutt monarch to operate entirely within the bounds of a strict, ceremonial constitutional monarchy. He maintains a policy of absolute neutrality regarding the partisan politics of the Royal Diet, focusing his reign entirely on cultural diplomacy, philanthropic patronage, and navigating the increasingly complex public relations scandals generated by the Royal Family.

Early Life and Education

Frederik was born in the Royal Palace of Creuzholz during the tense era of the “Cold Peace.” As Crown Prince, his early life was defined by the traumatic 1964 Kruhlstutt Riots. He witnessed his father, King Johannes III, surrender the monarchy’s absolute veto power to the Sovereign Workers’ League (SWL) to prevent a full-scale working-class revolution.

This event profoundly shaped Frederik’s worldview. He was educated not in traditional military strategy or imperial statecraft, but rather in international law and economics. During the 1970s and 80s, he served as a roving cultural ambassador, actively working to repair Kruhlstutt’s international image from that of an archaic naval empire into a modern, liberal democracy.

Reign and the “Silent Crown” (1988–Present)

Upon his coronation in 1988, Frederik V established the doctrine of the “Silent Crown.” He permanently withdrew the monarchy from any active role in parliamentary coalition-building.

Whether the government is controlled by the pro-corporate Kruhlstutter Union (KU) or the left-wing SWL, Frederik V restricts his political involvement to formally inviting the majority leader to form a government. He has never publicly commented on the bitterly divisive “Semiconductor Hypocrisy”—the kingdom’s highly profitable sale of tech hardware to the authoritarian Divine Republic of Kresimiria—viewing trade policy as strictly the domain of the Prime Minister.

His reign has been characterized by massive philanthropic efforts, specifically regarding the arts and environmental conservation along Lake Vokavovic.

Family and Scandals

King Frederik V is married to Queen Consort Mathilde, with whom he has four children. While the King himself is widely beloved by the Kruhlstutt public for his stabilizing, apolitical presence, his reign has been heavily marred by the scandalous behavior of his offspring.

The most severe ongoing crisis involves his second son, Prince Viktor, Duke of Geiselnau. In the early 2000s, Prince Viktor was implicated in a massive securities fraud scandal involving high-frequency trading at the Porta Franca border crossing. Further more, Viktor is currently wanted for questioning in the Republic of Kaskiv regarding his alleged involvement in the vehicular manslaughter of his Kaskivian girlfriend, Sara Vilipinos.

To prevent a catastrophic diplomatic incident and a trial on foreign soil, King Frederik V quietly utilized his remaining royal prerogative to permanently recall Viktor to Creuzholz. The Prince has been effectively banished from public life and confined to a rural royal estate. However, the Atonement Bloc and the Green Alliance frequently use the “Viktor Affair” to argue for the total abolition of the Kruhlstutt monarchy, keeping the aging King under constant, exhausting public scrutiny.
