Kresimiria Divine Chancellor

Divine Chancellor

Divine Chancellor is the title of the head of state of the Divine Republic of Kresimiria. It is currently held by Chancellor Kresimirovic IV. The office was established in 1921 following the Unification War, with Kresimir Kresimirovic I as its first holder. The Chancellor is elected by the Assembly of the Republic for life.

The role’s practical authority has shifted by era. Under Chancellor Kresimirovic II, especially after the 1942 Constitutional Amendment, the Chancellory functioned as a strong executive with broad veto power. From the 1970s onward, day-to-day governance has rested largely with the Chair of the Assembly, and recent Chancellors have rarely exercised their veto in ordinary legislative business — but reserve powers remain: Kresimirovic III threatened veto during the drafting of the 1988 State Enterprise Act, and in the 1993 Moraviski Crisis blocked a proposed ban on the Bosken Liberation Front.
