One of the ten Kresimirian Districts.
Moskiprovac (District V) is a central district located west of the capital district of Sinj. It is historically significant as a major battleground of the Unification War and the site of the infamous 1931 Vijrje Anniversary Attack.
The district capital is Vijrje, a sprawling commuter city that serves as the bureaucratic back-office of the Republic. Known for its functional architecture and the massive Vijrje City University, it lacks the glamour of Sinj but provides the administrative labor that keeps the state running.
The district’s economy is anchored by Vijrje City University (VCU). As one of the largest universities in the country, it provides a steady stream of white-collar workers for the local service sector and government administration. The university’s alumni network exerts significant influence over local politics, with nearly every District V Senator since 1980 having studied there.
Politics
For sixty years (1922–1982), the district was the personal fiefdom of Divine Founder Nika Radman, the longest-serving Senator in Kresimirian history. It remained a Blue Dawn stronghold until the 1990s. In the 1992 election, the district’s political monolith was broken by Florijan Kostic of the CRF. Elected in the wake of the Mlada Wrba scandal, Kostic held the seat for thirty years by appealing to the district’s merchant class with a platform of strict free-market economics.
The district’s return to the Blue Dawn fold was orchestrated by Dino Colic. After the party was wiped out in 1992 due to the Wrba scandal, Colic spent a decade rebuilding the local organization before reclaiming the seat from Vjetrusa in 2002.
In the 2022 election, the district swung back decisively to the establishment after the retirement of Kostic. Amidst Blue Dawn’s national decline, Moskiprovac provided a rare victory, electing two Blue Dawn senators, (re-electing) Dino Colic and Ivana Bogdan, for the first time in decades.
