Wilhelm von Felsen

Wilhelm von Felsen (1882–1948) was a Boskenmark politician and the faction leader of the Civic Union (CU) in the Federal Council during the presidency of Stefan Hartschnell.

A former civil servant from the central Vost valley, von Felsen managed the CU’s cantonal delegates following the 1939 Council election, the first contested poll for the chamber. He acted as Hartschnell’s legislative whip, ensuring the passage of budgets that supported the “Safe Harbor” doctrine and trade continuity with the Kingdom of Kruhlstutt. He was removed from office following the 1948 military intervention that dismantled the Civic Union.
