Edar Brov is a retired Kresimirian banker who served as Chairman of STP Credit until 2010, the Republic’s largest state-chartered bank and a historic rival to Bran Maj’s Prosperity Trust Bank.
Brov is the nephew of former Kresimirian leader Ante Brov.
In 2008, following Maj’s acquisition of Kasa24, STP Credit — under Brov’s leadership and influenced by the Czyhlarz family — arbitrarily raised interest rates on Maj Holdings’ corporate debt, threatening the conglomerate’s liquidity. The move was widely interpreted as political retaliation against Maj’s growing challenge to the Blue Dawn establishment.
Brov retired in 2010, and Petar Czyhlarz took over the charimanship of STP Credit.
