Erich Rosler was a Kruhlstutt politician who led the Kruhlstutt Conservative Party in the 1964 General Election, the Kingdom’s first democratic contest following the 1964 Kruhlstutt Riots. He represented Creuzholz Old Quarter until 1969.
Rosler’s Conservatives finished second with 82 seats and 34.5% of the vote, trailing Tobias Brandt’s Sovereign Workers’ League, which won an outright majority. The party spoke for pre-reform Crown Council loyalists and urban property owners who opposed the SWL’s welfare programme but rejected the neo-monarchist nostalgia of Lord Admiral Otto Teichmüller’s Admiration List.
Collapse into the Kruhlstutter Union
After the 1964 defeat, the Conservative Party proved unable to compete with the Admiration List for aristocratic votes or with the emerging Kruhlstutter Union of Tillmann Jurgens for industrial and rural conservatives. Rosler left the Royal Diet at the 1969 election, as the Conservatives dissolved and most of their remaining cadre joined Jürgens’s KU.
