Kresimiria Kakerovec

Kakerovec

Kakerovec is a large industrial town in District II (Kakerovecska), on the inland side of the Novi Otonik conurbation. It supplies finished parts and housing for foundry and munitions workers who cannot afford central Otonik rents.

Economy

The town’s economy is a belt of mid-size workshops feeding Maj Holdings and state ordnance contracts in Novi Otonik, plus technicians commuting to the Otonik Institute of Applied Sciences (OIAS). After the 2014 special election that brought Vesna Horvatin into the Assembly, Kakerovec’s small-business and technical-middle-class wards became a CRF organising priority, distinct from the union Blue Dawn culture of the capital foundries.

Politics

Mayor Irena Sabo (CRF) has held office since 2016, winning on housing densification near the OIAS rail spur and transparent municipal contracting after a Blue Dawn procurement scandal. Blue Dawn retains the heavy-industry wards; Northern Power contests the eastern logistics fringe. Civic Post coverage often cites Kakerovec when arguing that Horvatin’s CRF can administer a large municipality rather than only Assembly campaigns and smaller market towns.
