Kresi is the official language and primary ethnic identifier of the Divine Republic of Kresimiria. Spoken by the majority population in the northern and central districts, it is distinct from Bosken (west), Pravoslavic liturgical dialects (south), and the Hill Speak variants of the Alandir Confederacy.
Standard Kresi was codified by the 1925 Standard Kresi Act, which suppressed regional dialects in schools and civil service — a policy that alienated northern farmers such as Touko Lapic and contributed to the rise of Northern Power regionalism in Severnivaraje. The Council for Education enforces Kresi instruction alongside the Books of Kresimir in every republican school.
Regional dialects persist in border districts. Bistrica’s timber communities retain archaic Vosti-era vocabulary; the Vjetrusa party logo bears the word Zjazem (“Together” in Kresi). In foreign policy, “Kresi” doubles as shorthand for the Kresimirian nation itself — as in the Republic’s official name and the self-description of its state ideology.
