Kresimirian Brandy is a collective name for high-proof fruit brandies — principally plum and apricot — distilled in the agricultural districts of central Kresimiria, especially the Ravna Skrad hinterland. Producers market aged reserves as “Gold Label” bottlings showcased each year at Ravna Skrad’s Harvest Festival, alongside Skradska Pie and other Breadbasket City gastronomy.
Production
Distillation traditions predate the Republic, but NGT-era standardisation and RSZU food-science research professionalised quality control in the 1980s–1990s. Small cooperatives dominate output; Maj Holdings attempted a mass-market line in the 2000s but abandoned it after CRF satirists in the Early Bird Chronicle mocked “industrial slivovitz” as Sinj cultural imperialism.
Cultural role
In District VII, brandy is diplomatic currency — offered at harvest negotiations, Senate hospitality suites, and Northern Power ski-lodge lobbying. Abroad, Kresimirian Gold Label appears in Kruhlstutt finance bars as a novelty alongside Kaskivian wine imports, though export volumes remain modest under Bank of Zvonomir currency controls.
Reception
Religious conservatives associated with Sons of Kresimir periodically denounce festival brandy tents as moral hazards; Ravna Skrad’s satirical press treats such campaigns as annual comedy material.
