Maj Tower is the glass headquarters skyscraper of Maj Holdings in the Maj District of Polograd, District III. It is the tallest building in the city’s modern business quarter and the operational centre for decisions affecting Kresimirian steel, logistics, and retail under Senator Bran Maj.
Critics — especially clerics and municipal conservatives of the Sons of Kresimir — dislike the tower, in contrast to the Old City’s clocktower and the dome of the Grand Library.
Construction and politics
Zoning for the Maj District south of Polograd’s Old City walls was contested for years. Mayor Budimir Gavranovic negotiated a Sons of Kresimir–Vjetrusa municipal pact that allowed Maj Holdings to build a glass business district while preserving Diviner oversight of morality codes inside the walled centre.
Large-scale construction fell under Mayor Kiel Turundzhov (2008–2022), who oversaw the tower and surrounding skyscraper strip as part of a secular modernisation drive. The completed complex houses Maj Holdings’ global headquarters, Prosperity Trust Bank (founded 2009), and Kasa24 offices.
Controversies and legacy
The tower’s height and reflective curtain wall became a standing grievance for traditionalists who argued that Bran Maj had physically subordinated Polograd’s “Special Status of Divinity” skyline to private capital. After Ivan Bran won the 2022 mayoralty, his “spiritual restoration” programme explicitly aimed to curb further Maj District expansion — without attempting to seize or demolish the existing tower.
Outside Polograd, the building remains a shorthand in Assembly rhetoric for Maj’s parallel power centre opposite Sinj’s Gold District banks.
