The Mauding River is a major river of western Kresimiria, running through the mountains of District VI (Viskogorje). Its upper valley was flooded by the Vjetar Dam in 2008, a project managed by National Energy and built by GradnjaMC.
The dam supplies an estimated 40% of Sinj’s electricity and is a focal point of northern regionalist opposition led by Northern Power, which argues that Viskogorje bears the environmental cost while the capital reaps the power.
