The Gold District is the wealthy, gated financial and residential quarter of Sinj, capital of the Divine Republic of Kresimiria. It concentrates private banking headquarters, diplomatic compounds, and the villas of Assembly dynasties — a physical shorthand for the Sinj elite that northern and western politicians routinely denounce.
Institutions
The district houses the headquarters of STP Credit (the Gold Tower) and rival Sinj Commercial, along with satellite offices of insurers and brokerage houses that clear elite wealth around the Bank of Zvonomir system. The exclusive Sinj National Academy sits inside the district and educates children of Blue Dawn and banking families.
Unlike the Government Quarter on the north bank of the Kambel River, the Gold District is privately policed and architecturally imperial rather than brutalist — stone façades, courtyard gardens, and restricted vehicle gates.
Politics and culture
Refusal to live in the Gold District became a populist credential for figures such as long-serving District V Senator Nika Radman, who remained in modest Vijrje housing for decades. Blue Dawn orators including Edvard Matas attacked CRF “cultural liberalisation” in the district as decadence; CRF-aligned professionals and journalists treat it as the necessary capital of finance rather than theology.
Middle-class civil servants priced out of Gold District rents historically migrated south to Vijrje, reinforcing that satellite city’s identity as Sinj’s affordable twin.
