Viskogorje (District VI) is a rugged, mountainous district in the northwest of Kresimiria. It is home to Mount Vjetar, the highest peak in the Republic, and is known for its ski resorts and hydroelectric dams managed by the Council for Development.
Politics
Viskogorje has a strong military tradition. It was the home of General Dominik Loncar, who founded the nationalist party Vjetrusa. The district remained loyal to Vjetrusa under Loncar and his successor, Haret Trn, for nearly 40 years.
In 1992, the district famously unseated Trn in favor of Blue Dawn’s Stoyan Vasilis. Recently, however, the district has aligned with the northern regionalist movement. In 2022, Northern Power captured both seats, ending Vasilis’s career and solidifying the party’s dominance in the north.
