Kresimiria Vjetar

Vjetar

Vjetar (Mount Vjetar and the surrounding Vjetar Range) is a mountain massif in District VI (Viskogorje), northwestern Kresimiria. The range forms part of the geographic barrier isolating northern communities such as Lipovljana from the federal core — alongside the Severni mountains to the north.

The Vjetar Dam sits at the foot of Mount Vjetar on the upper Mauding River, supplying an estimated 40% of Sinj’s electricity. Senator Miljenko Tarin blocked Maj Holdings from acquiring logging rights in the Vjetar foothills during 1980s privatisation waves, protecting the Severnivaraje Forestry Cooperative.

The Civic Sanctian Youth (CSY) deploys cadets to plant saplings and build hiking trails through the Vjetar and Severni ranges as part of the state’s “Green Mandate.” Mia Colak, born in Lipovljana, grew up speaking Hill-Speak in the shadow of Vjetar — a dialect shaped by centuries of Vosti borderland isolation.
