Kresimiria 1946 Kaskivian General Election

1946 Kaskivian General Election

The 1946 election is often cited as the election where the “Republic was Saved” according to conservative historians. Kaskiv faced a massive internal threat from the Popular Democratic Front (PDF), a militant communist movement heavily backed by elements in the Kresimirian east under Filip Novak and Luka Matar.

In response, Lieto Ezzo took control of the LCP and successfully consolidated almost all right-wing, centrist, and agrarian forces under a single banner. The election was a landslide for the LCP. Ezzo ruled with an iron fist, maintaining a pragmatic, purely transactional relationship with Kresimirian Chair Luka Matar and Chancellor Kresimirovic II. While politically hostile, Ezzo ensured that Kaskivian grain continued to feed the Kresimirian industrial workforce, preserving Kaskiv’s sovereignty through indispensable agricultural leverage.
