One of the ten Kresimirian Districts.
Decelska (District IX) is a prominent district in central Kresimiria. It is anchored by two major urban centres, Kromine in the east and Karlovac in the west. It is the nation’s intellectual and technological hub, home to the Kromine Innovation Centre, Karlovac University and the headquarters of the tech giant YakaSys in the city of Kromine.
Politics
Decelska has produced some of the most influential figures in Kresimirian history. It was the home of Divine Founder Kresimir Basic and the site of his assassination in 1954. Later, it was represented for 30 years by CRF leader Boj Volansky.
In the 1950s, the district was represented by Josip Novak, the engineer-turned-politician son of the Republic’s founder. His tenure is remembered for his high-profile dissent against the central party line regarding the Bosken peace process.
Currently, the district is the power base of Blue Dawn leader Ari Stov, whose family has deep nationalist roots in the region. In the 2022 election, the district saw a dramatic contest where Volansky was unseated by his own party’s challenger, Illes Mehic.
