Kresimiria Decelska

Decelska

One of the ten Kresimirian Districts.

Decelska (District IX) is a prominent and highly influential administrative district located in central-southern Kresimiria. Anchored by the dual urban centers of Kromine (the secular tech hub) and Karlovac (the traditional theological center), the district represents the defining paradox of the modern Kresimirian state: the seamless fusion of rigid religious orthodoxy with cutting-edge digital authoritarianism.

Decelska is the wealthiest district in the Republic outside of the capital of Sinj. It serves as the physical headquarters for the Kresimirian technology monopoly YakaSys, the hardware foundries of DecelChip, and the elite Kromine Innovation Centre (KIC). Simultaneously, it houses the Karlovac University, the supreme academic authority of the state religion. This massive concentration of economic and cultural power has made District IX the premier political battleground for control over the Kresimirian establishment.

Geography and Economy

Decelska is geographically diverse, situated south of the capital district and north of the disputed Faith Line that borders the Bosken-majority District X (Moraviskameja). The district’s northern half is defined by rolling agricultural plains that support the nation’s massive grain yields, while the southern half becomes increasingly rugged as it approaches the Boskenmark border.

The “Silicon Spire” (Kromine)

The district capital of Kromine is the undisputed technological engine of the continent. Driven by the massive state subsidies of Chairman Ari Stov’s “Technocratic Statism,” the city’s skyline is dominated by the sprawling, modern campuses of YakaSys and the subterranean server fortresses built by GradnjaMC that process the Guardian Daemon. The city’s massive hardware foundries, run by DecelChip, produce millions of processors annually. Kromine boasts the highest concentration of venture capital and software engineers in Kresimiria, creating a highly affluent, secularized class of technocrats who wield disproportionate influence over the state’s security apparatus.

The Religious Heartland (Karlovac)

In stark contrast, the district’s second city, Karlovac, remains deeply traditional and ascetic. It is the spiritual epicenter of Kresimirianism, serving as the training ground for the Council for Divinity. The Karlovac University is the ultimate theological gatekeeper of the Republic; every Diviner must graduate from its seminaries before being authorized to issue the Divinity Certificates required for voting. Karlovac’s conservative population frequently clashes culturally with the secular tech elites of Kromine, creating deep internal friction within the district.

Political History

Decelska has produced some of the most consequential, and controversial, figures in Kresimirian history.

The Iron Era and Religious Conservatism

During the Republic’s founding, Decelska was the power base of Divine Founder Kresimir Basic, who established the hardline Sons of Kresimir (SoK) party. The district was famously the site of his brutal 1954 assassination by BRC-21 terrorists. The district’s religious conservatism was heavily weaponized by the Blue Dawn establishment, famously electing the 19-year-old loyalist Ivic Davor Kovrekovic in 1952.

The district later became a stronghold for conservative dissent against the state’s moderate policies. In the 1950s, Josip Novak (son of the Republic’s founder) represented the district, engaging in high-profile dissent against the central party line regarding the Bosken peace process. In 1960, the horrific bombing of Karlovac University by BRC-21 killed 28 people, an event that permanently traumatized the district and eventually forced the 1961 peace treaty.

The Liberal and Tech Eras

In the late 20th century, as Kromine began its explosive technological growth, the district’s political demographics shifted. For thirty years (1992–2022), the district was represented by Boj Volansky, the pro-corporate, libertarian leader of the Civic Renewal Front (CRF), who utilized the district’s immense private wealth to fund his national campaigns.

Currently, the district serves as the impregnable political fortress of Blue Dawn Chairman Ari Stov. Stov, the founder of YakaSys, has successfully merged the district’s technological wealth with the state’s authoritarian power, transforming Decelska into the blueprint for his digital surveillance state.

The 2022 Electoral Showdown

Decelska was the site of the most dramatic and consequential battle of the 2022 election. Ousted CRF leader Boj Volansky ran a heavily funded, rogue independent campaign to retain his seat. In response, the new CRF leadership nominated a 28-year-old anti-surveillance cryptographer, Illes Mehic, to run against him. The resulting liberal civil war saw Mehic successfully humiliate the 30-year incumbent, unseating Volansky and taking the second Senate seat alongside Ari Stov, creating a highly volatile representation where the architect of the surveillance state (Stov) and its fiercest critic (Mehic) both govern the same district.
