Johan Hacke was a Kruhlstutt reactionary politician who served as provisional leader of the National Front — the reorganisation project launched by Isabel Teichmüller after she dissolved the Admiration List (AL) in 1999. His sudden death forced the new party to withdraw from the 1999 General Election, marking the first Kruhlstutt campaign in modern history without an Admiration List–aligned ticket on the ballot.
Political context
The Admiration List had declined throughout the 1990s as aristocratic naval nostalgia lost ground to KU economism and SWL labour politics. Teichmüller attempted to salvage AL hardliners under the National Front brand; Hacke’s death left the movement leaderless and unable to contest 1999 while Sandro Kepler’s KU and Wilhelm Aris’s SWL dominated the cycle.
Legacy
Hacke is remembered primarily as a footnote in the slow collapse of Kruhlstutt neo-monarchist fringe politics before the CNP revival under Johanna Rief. The Hacke surname later appeared in 2004 candidate lists (Matz Hacke), suggesting a persistent minor aristocratic political network in Creuzholz.
