KSO1 (Kresimirian Sinj–Otonik 1) is the flagship electrified rail line of the Divine Republic of Kresimiria, connecting the political capital Sinj with the industrial hub Novi Otonik.
Commissioned under Chairman Ljubo Sanjakorin as part of the “Steel Link” initiative, the project aimed to double-track and electrify the century-old imperial corridor that had linked the Vosti administrative centre to its heavy-industry heartland. Despite cost overruns and opposition from the Civic Renewal Front, the line opened in 1998, drastically reducing passenger travel times and enabling rapid freight movement for steel and munitions output.
Financing and legacy
The Bank of Zvonomir initially resisted Sanjakorin’s demand for expansionary credit to fund KSO1, contributing to the central bank’s marginalisation during the statist-labour era. The Council for Development and Republic Rail jointly managed construction; inflation linked to the project peaked at 18% in 1994, as recorded in Krejt economic histories.
KSO1 remains Sanjakorin’s most tangible infrastructure legacy — the physical spine of the Republic’s industrial economy and a symbol of Blue Dawn’s conviction that state enterprise could modernise the federation faster than private capital.
