Marko Cabraja (1910–1967) was a Kresimirian politician and agriculturalist who led the Civic Renewal Front (CRF) from 1963 until his death in 1967, and sat as Senator for Moskiprovac (District V) from the 1962 election until the 1967 special election that followed his death.
Early career
Cabraja was appointed to the Moskiprovac Chamber for Agriculture in 1953 by long-serving District V power broker Nika Radman. He spent the late 1950s as a technocratic agricultural councillor, then broke with Radman’s rightward Iron Era alignment after the 1961 Treaty debates. In 1961 he joined the CRF, positioning himself as a rural liberal who could speak to Moskiprovac farmers without Blue Dawn or Vjetrusa branding.
CRF leadership and Senate (1962–1967)
When Vjetrusa incumbent Zoran Banit declined to seek re-election, Cabraja won a District V seat in 1962. The following year he succeeded Adam Corak as CRF leader, inheriting a party stuck at a modest four seats and overshadowed by Blue Dawn’s peacemaking government.
His leadership years emphasised agricultural credit, cautious support for the Brod Moravice settlement, and keeping the CRF visible as a liberal alternative rather than a protest vehicle. He died suddenly in Vijrje in 1967, triggering a District V special election. Party leadership passed through a short caretaker phase toward the later Corak–Tolik succession that would culminate, after further losses, in the Pavlovic-era CRF of the 1970s.
