Matej V. was a Kresimirian politician who served as Mayor of Lipovljana from 1936–1950 on the Revolutionary People’s Party (RPP) ticket. Public records identify him only by surname initial — a convention common among Viskogorje security officials of the interwar era.
Mayoralty (1936–1950)
Matej V. succeeded Luka K.’s early RPP mayoralty and governed Lipovljana through BRC-21 scares, Upper Slope resort zoning disputes, and the Iron Era centralisation of mountain district police under **Chancellor Kresimirovic II. His fourteen-year tenure kept the alpine city aligned with Sinj’s RPP machine while Lower Valley poverty worsened relative to Upper Slope hotel investment.
He stepped down in 1950 in favour of retired colonel Petar Bric, who would hold City Hall until Ivan Rukavin’s Blue Dawn tourism boom in 1964.
