Col. Petar Bric was a Kresimirian military officer and politician who served as Mayor of Lipovljana from 1950 to 1964 on the Revolutionary People’s Party (RPP) “Law and Order” ticket. His fourteen-year tenure ran through the securitised Iron Era, when BRC-21 infiltration scares dominated mountain district politics.
Not to be confused with Col. Anton Bric, the unrelated RPP mayor of Bistrica in Severnivaraje.
Mayoralty (1950–1964)
Bric won the 1950 election amid heavy federal security presence, promising to shield Viskogorje’s resort economy from Bosken insurgent networks. The RPP ticket he led would formally fold into Blue Dawn two years later, though Bric himself remained identified with the old centralist machine.
He left office in 1964 after Ivan Rukavin captured City Hall on a Blue Dawn platform promising a modern luxury tourism boom.
