Toni Huzjak was a Kresimirian politician who served as Mayor of Polograd from 1959 to 1968 on the Vjetrusa ticket — a rare VJ interlude in a city otherwise dominated by Sons of Kresimir.
Mayoralty (1959–1968)
Huzjak won office after Oton Kresimir-Smit’s long SoK tenure, campaigning on industrial modernisation and anti-Bosken hawkishness aligned with Vjetrusa’s national brand under Dominik Loncar. His nine years saw expanded foundry contracts with early Maj Holdings subsidiaries and resistance to Treaty of Brod Moravice cultural exchanges in the Old City.
SoK organisers ousted Huzjak in 1968, installing Zvonimir Bran and reopening the Bran Era of fortress conservatism that would last until 1985.
