Vladimir Kos is a Kresimirian industrial administrator who served as Mayor of Cetingrad for fourteen years (1972–1986). A Blue Dawn technocrat, he presided over the peak output of the lake foundry boom before stagnation and party infighting ended his tenure.
Mayoralty (1972–1986)
Kos succeeded the long-serving central planner Leon Rudar and inherited fully dredged harbours, deep-draft coal barges, and record smelter production along Lake Vokavovic. Through the mid-1970s Cetingrad’s state-owned complexes employed nearly forty percent of the city’s workforce and anchored District VIII (Zahodecelska) exports.
By the 1980s, equipment decay and bureaucratic rigidity left Kos unable to modernise the plants. When federal authorities under Ljubo Sanjakorin blocked his plan to sell the foundries to private buyers, Kos resigned in protest in 1986. Union organiser Mirko Knezic won the resulting election on a reform mandate that eventually paved the way for Maj Holdings acquisition.
