Kresimiria Zoran Pesic

Zoran Pesic

Zoran Pesic (born 1962) is a Kresimirian politician and former administrator for the Media Licensing Authority. A member of Blue Dawn, he has served as a Senator for District VII (Ravna Skrad) since 2002.

Pesic is a fixture of the establishment’s “Security Wing.” A quiet, bureaucratically minded moderate, he has maintained a consistent voter base among the district’s older population, farmers, and civil servants for over two decades. His political career is defined by his 2002 victory over the CRF incumbent Novija Wakovic, a win that restored Blue Dawn’s presence in a district that had been dominated by the liberal icon Mia Marija Pavlovic.

Currently the Senior Senator for the district, he serves alongside the newly elected CRF representative Drazen Horvat, representing the deep generational and ideological divide within the “Bellwether District.”

Early Life and Civil Service

Zoran Pesic was born in 1962 in Ravna Skrad. He attended Ravna Skrad Zvonomir University (RSZU), graduating with a degree in Public Administration in 1984.

Upon graduation, he joined the local branch of the Council for Education. He spent fifteen years working within the Media Licensing Authority (MLA). In this role, Pesic was responsible for monitoring the output of the district’s vibrant press, including the satirical newspaper The Early Bird Chronicle and the liberal Civic Post. He gained a reputation as a stern but pragmatic censor; while he frequently issued fines for “moral indecency,” he avoided shutting down popular publications, preferring a strategy of “managed containment.”

Political Career

The 2002 Election

In 2002, Blue Dawn sought to break the CRF’s hold on District VII. While CRF leader Mia Marija Pavlovic was considered unbeatable for the first seat, the second seat was held by her junior colleague, Novija Wakovic.

Pesic was selected for his clean record and administrative competence. He ran a campaign focused on “Order and Tradition,” appealing to the conservative voters in the agricultural hinterlands who felt alienated by the CRF’s social liberalism.

  • Result: While Pavlovic topped the poll, Pesic successfully consolidated the right-wing vote. He defeated Wakovic (29.7% vs 22.0%), securing the second seat and entering the Assembly.

In the Assembly

Pesic is known as a reliable vote for the Blue Dawn leadership, rarely breaking ranks on economic or administrative issues.

  • The Stov Era: He has generally supported Ari Stov’s modernization efforts. He voted For the 2015 Digital Vigilance Act, drawing on his background in media regulation to argue that the state had a duty to police the “digital frontier.”

The 2022 Election

In 2022, Pesic faced a difficult challenge from a revitalized CRF. While he retained his seat with 32.0% of the vote, he lost the top spot in the polls to the CRF newcomer Drazen Horvat. The election results highlighted the district’s demographics: Pesic dominated the rural polling stations and the “Old City,” while Horvat swept the University quarter and the youth vote.

Political Positions

  • Media Control: Pesic remains a staunch defender of the MLA. He has frequently called for stricter penalties for “digital sedition” and is a vocal critic of Northfocus.
  • Agriculture: He is a strong supporter of the National Grain Trust, viewing the state monopoly as essential for protecting Ravna Skrad’s farmers from market volatility.
  • Security: He supports a heavy CIA presence in the south of the district to monitor the border with Moraviskameja.
