Igor Cvetkov (born 1955) is a Kresimirian businessman and former Mayor of Cetingrad (1998–2012). He won office in the emergency poll after the 1998 Steelworks Incident, governing the lakeside foundry city through the Maj / Red Shore years before losing to Northern Power’s Silvija Bujan in 2012.
1998 election
After Mayor Said Klopje resigned in disgrace, Bran Maj tried to force an official Vjetrusa slate headed by Ante Bilic. District VIII strongman Misko Maretic, sensing the brand was radioactive in the Foundry District, quietly threw the party machine behind Cvetkov — a nominally independent industrialist who campaigned against both Maj corruption and Northern Power “eco-radicalism.” His “Industrial Protectionism” message convinced steelworkers that Northern Power would shutter the mills; he took City Hall that winter.
Mayoralty (1998–2012)
Cvetkov kept the foundries open and Vjetrusa organisers on the municipal payroll while avoiding Klopje’s open Maj-proxy branding. He managed Red Shore pollution as a public-relations problem rather than a shutdown threat, drawing rising Foundry District anger as respiratory illness climbed. By 2012 Northern Power under Syv Iric’s national leadership had captured enough lower-city votes to strand Cvetkov in third behind Bujan and Blue Dawn’s Dragan Ivic.
He left office after that defeat and returned to private logistics work on the lake belt.
