Petar Leko is a Kresimirian politician who served as Mayor of Vijrje from 2004 to 2016 on the Vjetrusa ticket. He held the “Concrete City” through the long post-scandal recovery after Mayor Stevan Pozar’s embezzlement and the Vijrje Restoration Scandal, before voters turned to technocratic liberalism.
Mayoralty (2004–2016)
Leko succeeded fellow Vjetrusa mayor Dominik Cilic in 2004, winning a narrow re-election against a surging Blue Dawn and a fractured Civic Renewal Front. His twelve years in office were defined by status-quo block-by-block campaigning in Vijrje’s bedroom boroughs rather than ambitious federal infrastructure bids. Public squares left half-finished after the Wrba era slowly received patchwork repairs, but voter apathy eroded his margins.
In 2016, Elena Kolar of the CRF ended twenty-four years of Vjetrusa municipal control, promising technocratic transit reform and closer ties to Vijrje City University.
