Pavel Iric is a retired Kresimirian politician and a key figure in the northern regionalist movement. He was the final leader of the Bistrice People’s Party (BPP) and the long-serving leader of its successor party, Northern Power, from 1963 until 2002.
Political Career
Pavel Iric is a member of the Iric political family. His father, Antonio Iric, founded the BPP, and his uncle, Imanuel Iric, also led the Bistrice People’s Party before Pavel.
Pavel was elected as a Senator for District IV (Severnivaraje) in the 1962 election, succeeding his uncle. In 1963, he oversaw the merger of the BPP into the broader Northern Power party, becoming its new leader. He led the party for nearly four decades, expanding its focus from a single district to advocating for the autonomy of all three northern provinces. He served as a Senator until his retirement before the 2002 election, when he was succeeded as party leader by his son Syv Iric.
