Stjepan Brod was a Kresimirian politician who served as Mayor of Cetingrad from 1938–1950 on the Revolutionary People’s Party (RPP) ticket. His twelve-year tenure bridged the interwar industrialisation of Lake Vokavovic’s eastern shore and the early Iron Era security programmes that would accelerate under his successor Leon Rudar.
Mayoralty (1938–1950)
Brod inherited a fishing port in transition. His administration began waterfront clearance and harbour dredging preparatory work later completed by Rudar, negotiated early rail links toward coal fields in Severnivaraje, and aligned municipal police with CIA sweeps after BRC-21 incidents along the Kruhlstutt frontier.
Throughout the 1940s**, Brod backed RPP centralism in Sinj while managing Cetingrad’s class divide between lakefront workers and hill-district elites. He stepped down in 1950, handing City Hall to Rudar’s long industrial mayoralty that would define the “Steel Shore” for two decades.
